*Special Note: This pricing structure is based on the fact that we are often asked about building a five page website. The vast majority of time involved in the process of designing a website is in designing the first page, concept, layout, navigation, and the all important search engine investigation and coding. The initial look, flow and feel of the front page can often take eight to twelve hours to create, while subsequent pages can take as little as twenty minutes. The average subsequent page might take about two hours to build, including the insertion of polished images and handling the subsequent subject matter search engine coding.
Q: What if I only have a small update, will it cost me every time I make a change?
A: Some companies will nickel and dime you to death for making small changes but when you host with Riverwoods you can make small changes on occasion without worry. Major updates or graphic redesigns normally do require an estimate but if your just adding a bit of text, changing your pricelist, or even adding some photos to your gallery, we are happy to make those additions free of charge.
Q: What is hosting and why do I need it?
A: A web host is a company that provides space on a server, where a web site content can be stored. No matter what web site design company you hire to design your web site, you always have to hire a company to host the web site. We are not only a design company, we also provide hosting services. When you hire us to design your web site, we provide hosting and service at a competative monthly rate.
Q: What the deal with the domain name?
A: First you need a domain name. This is your web address (www.whatever.com). Domain names are controlled by the international organizations IANA and ICANN.
Before a domain can become active, it has to be registered and associated with a particular IP address. Domain registrars register domain names with ICANN and point the domains to the particular server that will be accessed when a user types the domain name into the web browser. For this service all domains owners pay a yearly fee to the registrars.
Q: How long does it take to build a site?
A: This really depends on how prepared the client is. If most of the graphics, photos, and information are submitted we can normally have a draft up within a week, sometimes less depending on the schedule. Normally this draft is the main index page which is reviewed by the client for its graphics, layout, and content. Once approved we can then apply that template to the remaining pages and have the site completed within a week.
